Smart Route, Maps handoff, and offline-ready trips
Limbo Pro adds Smart Route, Maps handoff, offline access, attachments, an automatic Gmail booking inbox, live flight alerts, and an ad-free experience, alongside more reliable invites and shared expenses.
In Limbo 2.5.00
Limbo 2.5.00 expands Limbo Pro with more travel-planning benefits: Smart Route, Maps handoff, cached and downloaded offline access, trip attachments, an automatic Gmail booking inbox, live flight alerts, and an ad-free experience. Available Pro tools stay visible in grey with a lock on a free account; tapping one opens the Pro offer.
This 2.5.00 rollout is iOS first. Feature availability follows the app version and account; a Pro tool that is not available stays hidden rather than appearing as an unfinished option.
Annual price
Limbo Pro costs US$29.99 per year in the United States. On iOS, Limbo displays the localized annual price returned by the App Store for your storefront. In Australian storefront testing, Apple currently returns A$49.99 per year. Always review the amount shown by the App Store before confirming.
Smarter routes and Maps handoff
Smart Route can reorganize one itinerary day with 3–25 confirmed, dated, mapped stops. Editors choose Driving, Walking, or Shortest path, keep automatic endpoints or choose a fixed start and finish, then compare the current and suggested order before applying anything. Shortest path compares complete Driving and Walking routes and can evaluate Public transport leg by leg in a Google-derived stop order. If a complete transit journey is unavailable, Limbo leaves it out rather than showing a partial route. Applying the preview updates the Plans timeline, numbered pins, and the route line on Limbo's map together. Walking results include Google's pedestrian-route warning.
Open in Maps is a separate handoff and never reorders the trip. Choose a day and Drive, Walk, Bike, or Transit, then tap Open with Maps. On iOS 18.4 or later, the drawer offers Apple Maps and Google Maps; older iOS versions offer Google Maps only. Apple Maps may split Walk, Bike, or Transit into continuous legs, and Google Maps may split a longer day to preserve every stop. The opened route is a snapshot, so later Limbo edits do not change it.
Offline travel and private trip files
Cached trips and Offline travel packs solve different offline needs. A cached trip is content Limbo has already loaded, so Pro members with recently verified access can reopen it and keep making changes without a connection. A travel pack is an explicit encrypted download from Account that also includes current Checklist tasks, linked guides, and saved trip and plan attachments. Packs can resume, refresh, and be removed without deleting the shared trip. Google Maps tiles are not included. A pack opens only for the same account and Limbo environment until the earlier of Pro expiry and 72 hours after Limbo last verifies access online.
Trips with a ready travel pack now show an Offline chip on Home, so you can see at a glance which trips are prepared for airplane mode.
Attachments now have a dedicated trip-workspace pill and a gallery with All, Photos, and Files filters. Pro members with edit access can add PDF, JPEG, PNG, or HEIC files up to 15 MiB each, with 250 MiB shared by the trip and its plans and 2 GiB across files charged to an account. Existing file names, sizes, and stored content remain if Pro ends. Uploading and normal opening lock, but an authorized uploader or trip owner can still delete a file.
An automatic Gmail booking inbox
Forwarding a confirmation to addthis@getlimbo.app stays free. Pro members can also connect a Google account so Limbo finds the bookings for you.
Open Automatic Gmail booking inbox from the Account card, or tap the cog on the Incoming Plans sheet to open the Email import screen, then choose Connect Gmail. Limbo asks Google only for the read-only gmail.readonly permission, and you can connect any Google account you own; it does not have to match your Limbo sign-in address. The connected address is shown masked with a Last scan time.
One scan runs as soon as you connect. After that, Limbo checks for new bookings in the background while your connection and Pro access remain active. Tap Scan now to check sooner. Each scan looks back over the last 30 days for confirmation, reservation, itinerary, booking, and ticket emails. Matches wait in Incoming Plans for you to review, and nothing is added to a trip automatically.
Disconnect deletes Limbo's stored credential and its scan receipts and asks Google to revoke access. Plans you have already filed into a trip stay where they are.
Live flight alerts
Pro members with edit access can enable Live flight alerts on looked-up flights for schedule, delay, gate, landing, and baggage updates supplied by the flight provider. Enable alerts from a saved flight, or select them while adding one. The flight details show whether alerts are pending, on, need attention, or complete, with Retry and Turn off when applicable.
Free, rate-limited Refresh flight details remains available and does not enable live alerts. Flights entered completely by hand need automatic flight details before alerts can start. Availability depends on your app and account. Flights explains setup and notification checks.
Safer plan date edits
When you edit a plan, Limbo stops an end date or time from being saved before the start. The editor stays open with your other changes intact, so you can correct the timing and save again.
More reliable invitations and shared expenses
Shared trip invitations now use a tappable web link that opens the trip preview for the recipient and directs them to Limbo when needed. The six-character code remains in the message for manual entry.
When cost splitting is on, a new expense now records the person adding it as the payer unless they choose someone else. The same default applies when a priced booking is confirmed from Incoming Plans, helping the expense appear correctly in Balances.
Expenses and Balances now refresh when another crew member adds, edits, or settles a cost. If someone leaves a trip, Limbo keeps their historical expense share and excludes them from costs recorded after they left.
An ad-free Limbo
Limbo Pro removes Limbo-controlled display ads. Partner booking links that you choose to open can still appear and remain clearly disclosed.
Core planning stays free. Everyone can still create and join trips, add plans, vote, chat, use Preflight and Checklist, track expenses, manage balances according to their crew permissions, and forward booking emails to addthis@getlimbo.app.
