Attach tickets and documents

Keep tickets, booking confirmations, and insurance documents on the trip or on the plan they belong to, where the whole crew can open them.

Attachments are the files your trip runs on: the e-ticket PDF, the hotel confirmation, the insurance certificate, a photo of the parking permit. Attach one and everyone on the trip can open it, so nobody has to dig through a mailbox at the airport.

There are two places to put a file, and it is worth choosing the right one.

  • On the trip. Scroll past the tiles on the trip hub to the Attachments section. Use this for anything that covers the whole trip: insurance, a visa letter, the group's itinerary PDF.
  • On a plan. Open a plan from the timeline or the map and scroll to the bottom of its details. Use this for the file that belongs to that booking: the flight's e-ticket, the hotel confirmation, the tour voucher.

Both places look the same: a paperclip heading, a count of the files already there, and two buttons, Add photo and Add document. When there is nothing attached yet you see No attachments yet under the buttons.

What you can attach

Limbo accepts PDF, JPEG, PNG, and HEIC files, up to 15 MB each. That covers almost every ticket and confirmation, and every photo an iPhone or Android camera takes.

A few things worth knowing before you pick a file:

  • You attach one file at a time. Add the next one when the first has finished.
  • Limbo inspects the file itself, not just its name, so renaming something to .pdf will not get it through. An unsupported file gets a short Unsupported attachment message.
  • A file over the limit is refused with Attachment too large. Export a lighter PDF or a smaller photo and try again.

Add a photo

  1. 1
Open the trip, or open the plan the file belongs to.
  2. 2
Scroll to Attachments and tap Add photo.
  3. 3
Allow photo access the first time you are asked. Limbo cannot open your library without it.
  4. 4
Pick one image. It uploads straight away and appears in the list.

Add a document

  1. 1
Scroll to Attachments and tap Add document.
  2. 2
Your device's file picker opens, filtered to the file types Limbo accepts.
  3. 3
Choose the file. It uploads and joins the list underneath.

Each row shows the file's name and size, with an image or PDF icon on the left. A spinner replaces the arrow on the right while Limbo is opening or removing that file.

Open an attachment

Tap the row.

  • Images open in a preview inside the section. Tap the preview to close it again.
  • Documents hand off to whatever your phone uses to read them, usually your browser or a file viewer.

Limbo fetches a fresh, short-lived link every time you tap, so come back to the trip or the plan to open the file again rather than keeping the old link around.

Delete an attachment

A small red bin sits at the end of a row when you are allowed to remove that file. You see it if you uploaded the file yourself, or if you are the trip owner. owner

Tapping it asks you to confirm, and the message is honest about the reach: the file "will be removed for the whole crew." There is no undo, and deleting the file does not touch the plan or the trip it was attached to.

Deleting the whole trip clears its stored files too, along with the files on its plans. See Archive, reactivate, and delete a trip.

Files from a forwarded booking email

When you forward a booking confirmation to Limbo and confirm the plan it found, the Keep original email & files switch decides whether the attachments from that email are saved onto the new plan. Leave it off when the files carry passenger or payment details you would rather not share with the crew.

Files saved that way have no uploader, so only the trip owner can remove them later. owner More on the whole flow in Plans from your email.

Note

Attachments are the one part of a trip that needs a connection. Uploading, opening, and deleting all reach the network, and offline Limbo tells you plainly: "Reconnect to upload, open, or delete an attachment." Everything else on the trip keeps working. See Working offline.
