Core trip planning is now free
Free core trips, annual ad-free Pro, safer partner handoffs, and account deletion that keeps progressing through provider outages.
In Limbo 2.4.00
The whole Limbo trip workflow is now free: create and confirm trips, invite your crew, vote, chat, use Preflight and Checklist, track expenses, and reopen completed trips without buying a pass. Crew never need Pro to participate or use the tools their role allows.
Version note: this article records the 2.4.00 ad-free launch. In 2.5.00, annual Pro also includes Smart Route, Maps handoff, cached and downloaded offline access, and attachments. The older itinerary-planner flow is retired. The current capability list is in Limbo Pro.
Trip Passes are no longer sold or spent. Existing purchase records remain available for support and reconciliation, but they do not control trip access.
Limbo Pro is now an optional annual ad-free subscription. Existing monthly or promotional access stays ad-free until its current expiry, but new monthly plans are no longer offered.
Free accounts may see compact, clearly labelled Sponsored cards on Home, after a completed AI itinerary, in Travel guides, below the Trip Overview quick actions, or at the top of the trip's Plans view. They stay out of voting, chat, Preflight tasks, Expenses, and the trip map.
Limbo can update or switch off each sponsored placement from the server, so removed campaigns stop opening without waiting for another app release. Trip Overview and Plans view each have their own switch, including separate iOS and Android Google ad slots.
Google native ads can be enabled placement by placement. Limbo checks for any required Google consent choice before one loads, requests non-personalized ads in this release, and lets you reopen available choices from Profile → Ad privacy choices.
Partner booking links now show exactly which destination, dates, or selected public place will be shared before anything opens. Continue to the named partner or cancel without sending a click.
When creator itineraries are available, Limbo can enable the Travel guides entry on Home from the server. You can then explore free creator-made guides, report or block creators, and copy a guide into your own private editable trip. While the collection is unavailable, Limbo can keep that Home entry hidden without affecting your trips.
Account deletion now disables the account as soon as Limbo accepts the request and starts removing the data Limbo controls. Shared trips can continue with a surviving joined crew member, while private trips are deleted. If Apple or the subscription processor is temporarily unavailable, that external cleanup stays pending and Limbo retries it without reopening the account.
