The voting dashboard
Two views of every ballot — the trip's Vote on Plans sheet with Active, Resolved, and All tabs, and the full voting screen with overall progress.
Once proposals start flying, you need one place that answers two questions: what still needs my vote, and what has the crew already decided? Limbo gives you two: a quick ballot sheet inside the trip, and a full voting screen for the deep view. Both show the same ballots — pick whichever is closer.
Who can do what: anyone on the trip can open both dashboards, vote, and expand ballot cards. The settings cog is visible to the trip owner only, and the Decide now gavel on active ballots appears for organizers only — see Organizer powers.
Vote on Plans — the trip's ballot sheet
- 1Open the trip from Home.
- 2On the Overview tab, tap the ballot icon in the toolbar above your plans. It gently bounces while ballots are waiting for votes.
The Vote on Plans sheet slides up with three quick stats:
- You voted — how many of the active ballots you've voted on, like "1/3".
- Total votes — every vote cast across the trip's ballots so far.
- Next deadline — a countdown to the soonest-closing ballot, like "2d 4h".
Below the stats, three tabs split the ballots:
| Tab | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Active | Open ballots that can still collect votes. A red badge counts the ones you haven't voted on yet. |
| Resolved | Decided ballots (shown as reveal cards) plus ballots whose deadline has passed. |
| All | Everything together. |
Ballots are grouped by the day the plan is for, with undated plans in a "No Date Set" group at the end. Pull down to refresh.

The voting screen
The full-screen dashboard opens from outside the trip:
- Tap a card in the Decisions inbox on Home.
- Tap any voting notification — it deep-links straight here.
The header shows the trip's cover photo and name, plus the settings cog if you're the owner. Below it:
- Overall Voting Progress — one combined bar of every yes, no, and abstain across the trip's ballots, with counts and percentages.
- Active Voting — every pending ballot, with vote buttons.
- Approved Plans and Rejected Plans — decided ballots as reveal cards (see The reveal).
The screen updates live: when a companion votes or a ballot resolves, the cards refresh without a pull. If voting is switched off for the trip, the screen says so — and shows the owner an Enable Voting button.

Reading a ballot card
Both dashboards use the same card. The badge in the corner tells you where the ballot stands:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Voting | Open and collecting votes, with time remaining like "2d left" or "3h 45m". |
| Threshold Met | Yes votes have already reached the approval threshold (open tallies only). |
| Awaiting Participants | More of the crew still needs to vote to hit the trip's minimum participation. |
| Pending Approval | The deadline passed with the rules met — the verdict is being finalized. |
| Voting Closed | The deadline passed without meeting the rules; an organizer has to decide. |
What the card shows depends on the ballot's privacy:
- Open tallies — an Approval Progress bar with the yes percentage, the yes/no/abstain counts, and a voted/total ratio like "4/7".
- Sealed — a lock banner reading "Votes sealed until the reveal", "4 of 7 have voted" with the voters' avatars, and your own vote marked "(only you can see this)". No counts, no bar — see Sealed and anonymous ballots.
Tap Yes, No, or Abstain to vote; tap a different choice to change your mind before the deadline.
Expand a card for the details
Tap anywhere on a ballot card to expand it (the chevron at the bottom collapses it again):
- The plan's description.
- The who-voted list. On open ballots it's "Votes Cast:" with each voter's name, choice, and any comment. On sealed ballots it's "Voted so far:" — names with a lock icon, choices hidden.
- Proposed by — who put the plan on the ballot and when.
- The resolution reason, once the ballot has been decided.

Tip
Wherever you vote — a dashboard, the Decisions inbox, or a ballot card in chat — it's the same ballot. Your vote follows you to every surface, and it works offline too.
