The Budget tab
A tour of the trip's Budget tab — per-person cards, the cost-per-person sheet, the multi-currency total, and the item list.
The Budget tab is the third tab inside every trip (Overview, Itinerary, Budget, Checklist). It collects every plan with a cost plus your standalone budget items, converts everything into the trip's default currency, and — if cost splitting is on — shows who owes what.
Everyone on the trip can see it. member Adding, editing, and deleting items requires edit access — see Track costs.
Per-person summary cards
When cost splitting is enabled, two cards sit at the top:
- You — your avatar and your share of the whole trip.
- Crew (N) — a stacked row of crew avatars and their combined share.
Tap the Crew card to open the Cost per person sheet: one row per person, with their avatar, name, and exact share in the trip currency. It's the screen to pull up when someone asks "so what do I owe?".
If splitting is off, the cards don't appear — you just get the total and the list.
The total
The Total row sums every item, converted into the trip's default currency.
If all your items are in one currency, it's a simple number. The moment any item uses a different currency, the total becomes an accordion — tap it to expand the breakdown:
- One row per currency, showing the item count and subtotal in that currency.
- The converted amount and the exchange rate used, like "= $1,240.00 @ 0.920".
- A "Rates as of" note — Limbo uses exchange rates from your trip's start date when one is set, otherwise today's rates.

Conversions are estimates for planning — your card's actual rate at the till will differ a little.
The item list
Items are listed upcoming first, then items without a date, then past ones. Each row shows:

Rows with a split or a currency conversion expand when tapped — you'll see the per-person breakdown ("You 50% ($120) · Alex 50% ($120)") and the converted amount in the trip currency.
Tapping a row also opens its details sheet: flights get the full flight sheet, plans get the plan sheet, and bare budget items get a compact view. The pencil in the sheet takes you to the edit form.
Selecting items
If you have edit access, every row has a checkbox on the left. Tick a few and use the delete button in the action bar above the list to remove them in one go (you'll be asked to confirm). organizer
Permissions
- View everything on this tab: every crew member on the trip. member
- Add items, edit, and bulk-delete: organizers and crew with edit permission. organizer
- Change the default currency or the split rules: anyone who can edit the trip, via the trip form.
