Mark tasks done and reopen
Tick a task off with its status dot, uncheck a finished one to send it back to its owner (not up for grabs), and delete tasks you no longer need — all of it works offline.
Finishing a task in Pitch In is a single tap — and so is changing your mind. Tick a task off when it's done, uncheck it if it turns out it isn't, and remove tasks that no longer belong on the list.
Who can do what: marking done, reopening, and deleting all need edit access — organizers and the owner always, plus any crew the owner has granted edit rights. organizer Without edit access the status dot and the trash icon are hidden, so the row is read-only.
Marking a task done
Each task row has a round status dot on the left.
- 1Find the task in the list.
- 2Tap the round status dot on the left of the row.
- 3The dot fills green with a check, the title gets a strike-through, and the label flips to Done.
A done task still counts toward the header's "X of N claimed" tally, so finishing the last open job is what turns that pill green.

Unchecking a done task
Marked something done too soon? Tap the same status dot again to reopen it. Where it lands depends on whether it had an owner:
- A task that had an owner goes back to Claimed by that same person — the assignee is kept, not cleared. The job lands right back on whoever was on it.
- A task that was never claimed (no owner) reopens all the way to Up for grabs, ready for anyone to claim.
Note
Unchecking does not put a claimed task back up for grabs. If you actually want to hand it back to the crew, set it to Unassigned in the Who's on it? sheet instead — see Claim, assign, and reassign.
Deleting a task
When a task no longer belongs on the list, remove it.
- 1Tap the trash-can icon at the far right of the task's row.
- 2Confirm Remove in the Remove task alert ("Remove "<title>" from the divvy-up list?").
- 3The task disappears from the list right away.
Deleting a task that's linked to a plan only removes the task — the plan itself stays put.
Pitch In offline
Tip
Pitch In is fully offline. Adding, claiming, assigning, reassigning, unclaiming, marking done, reopening, and deleting all apply instantly and queue on your phone, then sync automatically the moment you're back online. The list reads from your device too, so it's all there in airplane mode. Tasks keep the same ID through the round-trip, so nothing duplicates — and a re-synced delete won't come back as a phantom failure. For the full picture of offline mode, see Working offline.
The only thing that needs a connection is a brand-new task created while online failing to save — for example against a stale trip — which surfaces a "Couldn't add that task" alert. Offline, new tasks simply queue silently.
